The US educator John Thompson's teaching materials are among the most widely used of all piano tutors - Easiest Piano Course, Teaching Little Fingers to Play, Modern Piano Course - all published by Willis Music Company.

Thompson headed music conservatoires in Philadelphia, Indianapolis, and Kansas City, and brought to his published material a lifetime of experience in pedagogy, creating books which continue to inspire young learners and adults alike, more than half a century after the author's death.

New material continues to be added to the series which bears his name, now comprising an extensive selection of books covering all styles of music.
