Harold East arranged this racy Beatles' number for Barbara McGregor and her pupils at St. Paul's Girls' School, London. As with the sister arrangement, "She's LeavingHome", it has a flexible scoring for four Bb clarinets and a bass clarinet or, alternatively, an Eb clarinet, two Bb clarinets, alto clarinet and bass clarinet. This is a more demanding arrangement in a rhythmically active, jazz style which offers a good contrast to the reflective mood of "She's Leaving Home" should players wish to couple the two arrangements in recital.
"...Ticket To Ride (grade 6-7) conveys a driving rock groove through five clarinets. As in She's Leaving Home, the possibilities of the five instruments are well used, and the arranger shows he is aware of the dangers of arranging this kind of music for such an ensemble. First of all, don't try to imitate a rock band, but use the strong musical material in a way idiosyncratic to the instruments. Thus effects appear which were never part of the original, in this case trills and headlong semiquavers near the end, but contribute to an exciting piece of music."

Sometimes this will be due to overwhelming demand, and sometimes it will be due to circumstances beyond our control, such as the item having gone to reprint or out of print. You should be aware that your payment is taken automatically online at the time you place your order. In the circumstances outlined above, we will do our best to contact you and inform you of any anticipated delays. You may cancel your order at any time if you are not happy to wait.
Although we make every effort to ship your order according to these guidelines, we will not be held responsible for any loss or damage caused by delayed delivery.
